    This forum is unusable!

I love regular expressions. I would love to be an active contributer to this forum. Unfortunately, the software which runs this forum is wholely unusable. I joined up and contributed a few solutions, but will be leaving now due to the bugs in the UI.

Its unfortunate, because there are very few forums on the internet which are dedicated to regex.

The regular expression which matches the facts supporting your remark is

    $^

    And this is pcre compliant.

Thanks for the feed back, but a feed back without facts will be ignored by the moderator, I guess.

It's a shame. I know ridgerunner from elsewhere on the Internet well enough to know that he is a regex expert and would've been a great asset here. I, too, mostly abandoned this forum years ago over frustration with it's UI and more. I'm amazed that some of the quality contributors like Aussie Susan and others still hang out here all these years later.

    Re: This forum is unusable!

I posted almost 3000 posts here over 7 years and had  trouble with the interface maybe a handful of times.

The bigger problem is that for some reason people stopped going to this forum anymore, and I'm not sure it's related to UI troubles. Someone told me that it has to do with how Google finds the site.

    Re: This forum is unusable!

Updating this site is long overdue.  I'm evaluating options currently.  Any recommendations for forum software, preferably running on .NET, would be welcome.  I'm considering moving the forums to be part of RegExLib.com, which already servers to generate a large amount of the traffic for this site.  At which point the URL might change to RegExLib.com/forums for instance - would that be a major concern?
